Additional information
- At TGTF I work with one other sports medicine specialist, two manual
therapists and five researchers. All members of Military Forces must be
physically fit to meet military operational requirements, to perform under a
wide range of geographical and environmental conditions, to cope with the
stresses of sustained operations and to be ready to respond on short notice
under circumstances where "losing" may become life threatening. From this
point of view special forces should be considered as elite athletes.
- I treat sports injuries of the general active population at SMA-Rotterdam.
- Spearheads: promotion of guidelines for clinical sports medicine and
research on sports injuries based on a more biomechanical approach.
